* LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND
"Leave no one behind" must be a global priority, otherwise 1 step forward for the few means 3 steps back for all in the long term. From economics to politics, from education to the healthcare system, from the environment to human rights, the international community must have a global pripority: leave no one behind.
* VACCINE'S INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
Countries worlwide should acwuire the intellectual property rights of COVID-19 vaccine. COVID-19 vaccines should be public goods. A global challenge requires a global response. Monopolies and nationalisms can't be the answer.
* VACCINE PRODUCTION
Every country must produce its own vaccine. Of course international cooperation is necessary to reach those countries that don't have the resources to produce a vaccine independently, but developed countries must have their own vaccine. Europe don't have its own vaccine and this is the main cause behind the difficult situation Europe must face to contain the spread of the virus and overcome the challenge.
* SPEED
In a dynamic and unstable scenario, being late on being on timee is no longer acceptable; you have to go fast. A system that is not able to go fast is not sustainable in the long term.
* CULTURE OF PREVENTION
Now more than ever every country must take action on two levels: in the short term to faace the emergency and bring relief to the population and another action in the long term in order to make a change and develop a culture of prevention.
One of the main lessons we can and should learn from this pandemic is this: chane is no longer a "re-action", change must ba an "action" and the global priority.
